Over a decade after his first appearance inNemesis, the titular criminal finally returned in the soft reboot miniseries,Nemesis Reloaded. Not only did this story reintroduce the psychopathic villain, it served as a prelude tothe bigger Millarverse crossover,Big Game, where Nemesis worked closely with the Fraternity to fight an army of superheroes. Nemesis lost everything in the battle, from his immense wealth to the use of his body. However, he masterminded a plan that saw him restored to perfect health and allowed him to steal from the richest people on Earth,making Nemesis a threat once again.
Nemesis is one of the most ruthless villains in the Millarverse, and he’s only gotten worse as time has gone on. He was once content just to play deadly games with police officers, but his near-death experience has changed the villain’s perspective. Nemesis is realizing that he’s been thinking far too little, and if he really wants absolute freedom, he’s going to have to take the world by force. And sadly, if any villain could do it, it’d be him. It’ll be interestingto see if any Millarverse hero can stop Nemesis or if he’ll actually take control of Earth.

TheNemesissaga has been growing bigger with each story, so it makes sense that the villain is finally going for world conquest. While most stories have been self-contained, one must wonder if this will feature any of the Millarverse’s heroes, like Kick-Ass, who will rise up to stop Nemesis (Dave does have superpowers now). But even if they do, Nemesis is the kind of villain to plan for everything, so even if a hero does show up, that may not mean much. Fans are just going to have to wait to see whatNemesishas planned for the world.
