Our Take On Alice Halsey’s Casting As Laura Ingalls

Is She A Good Casting Choice?

Alice Halsey’s casting signals thatthe reboot is committed to honoring the spirit of Laura Ingalls– a child with grit, imagination, and unshakable integrity. Considering her experience, Halsey should bring a grounded presence beyond her years, and that will be key. Laura isn’t precocious just for the sake of it, she’s a child who knows things and pushes boundaries because she sees deeper truths.

The role of Laura demands more than just sweetness or charm. The character is a disruptor, a keen observer, and has a fierce heart. Halsey has a flicker of all that, and a spark that makes you believe she can question authority, charge barefoot through fields, and call out injustice without hesitating. Halsey has everything to render Laura the strong protagonist that she is inLittle House on the Prairie.
