Fans would have loved aDrizzt cameo inHonor Among Thieves, and they may finally get the character in the series. While some fans of Salvatore’s work argue that not adapting it preserves the authenticity of the story, without risking unfaithful or bad TV,many fans would simply adore a nod to this story on-screen.Honor Among Thievesnailed the formula of adaptingD&Dbooks into its original storyline, where Drizzt was going to have a small cameo role guiding the main characters through the Underdark.
If the episode featuring Drizzt or his daughter went well, Crevello could include similar material in Dungeons & Dragons.
After Drizzt was cut, the role went to Xenk. Xenk was incredible in Drizzt’s place and could inspire the TV show to try a similar strategy. If the show leads with a strong cast of original characters making up its central adventuring party, it can work in references to legendary lore alongside them. Drizzt is just one example ofD&Dlore that should feature in the show, even if in passing. Tiamat, Vecna, Eilistraee - all these icons would reel in viewers. If the episode featuring Drizzt or his daughter went well, Crevello could include similar material inDungeons & Dragons.
