What This Means For 9-1-1: Nashville
It’s A Key Component
The firehouse is a crucial location for more than just the firefighter focus of the franchise. It’s also where the characters have had some of the most emotional moments. This is evident inthe9-1-1season 8 finale, with Howard Han (Kenneth Choi) stepping in to fill the void created by the death of Captain Bobby Nash (Peter Krause) and proving himself as a capable leader.
9-1-1: Nashvilledebuts later this year.
The centrality of the firehouse has led some viewers to wish that it would take center stage in a different way, with the 118 relaxing during an episode that doesn’t have as many emergencies. That hasn’t quite happened yet. However, the9-1-1: Nashvillecast, which also includes Hailey Kilgore, Michael Provost, Juani Feliz, and Hunter McVey, could make use of the building. As the photos reveal though, it’s not quite customized just yet.
Our Take On The Latest 9-1-1 Update
It Should Feel Unique
The first responders in the procedural franchise, created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, and Tim Minear, are always running to emergencies. It doesn’t leave them a ton of time to sit around and enjoy their surroundings, outside of a meal or two in 118’s case, but showrunner Rashad Raisani could do something different by spending more time in the firehouse.
It’s no secret that the famed franchise is at a sensitive crossroads. Some are upset that9-1-1: Lone Starwasn’t renewed, and even more are dismayed byBobby’s getting killed off. The best thing9-1-1: Nashvillecould do, right now, is stand on its own and establish its own identity, firehouse and all.
