Details about a newGenshin Impact6.0 character have been leaked, and based on the information provided so far, their release may mark the end of an era for a very popular character that F2P players have been using since launch.Version 6.0 will be the next big patch for HoYoverse’s action RPG. The update will introduce players to the region ofNod-Krai and its characters, while stepping away from Natlan.
Much about the subregion in Snezhnaya is still shrouded in mysteryand will likely remain so until the Version 6.0 livestream. Even so, HoYoverse has been dropping a few teasers. The company has even gone as far as to confirm anew Dendro characterforGenshin Impact6.0 called Lauma, who is connected to the Frostmoon Scions.

One of the many confirmed Nod-Krai characters, Aino, has had her entire gameplay kit leaked. This not only indicates that she will be released in Version 6.0, but it also provides more insight into what she will do.
According to information provided by Seele Leaks, which was shared by userISRUKRENGon Reddit,Aino is expected to be a 4-star Hydro claymore user, which would make her the first of this kind of element and weapon combination inGenshin Impact.
As seen in the leak, Aino can use her Elemental Skill to pull herself toward a target location, and upon arriving, she deals AoE Hydro DMG to nearby enemies. Her leaked Burst saysAino can summon a water-spraying device called Chill Out Duck, which deploys a zone. While the device is active, it fires water projectiles at enemies, dealing Hydro DMG to them.
Aino May Replace Xingqiu In Future Genshin Impact Teams
The Character Is Rumored To Be A F2P Hydro Sub-DPS
Based on the information provided by the leak so far, it’s easy to assume that Aino will be an off-field Hydro sub-DPS. In addition to that,it’s expected that Aino will be given to players for free with the arrival of Version 6.0.
In Version 5.0, HoYoverse gave players access to a free copy of Kachina, while Version 4.0’s release resulted in a free Lynette giveaway. These giveaways are a way of giving you access to new regional characters and a glimpse of the exclusive regional mechanics.
Aino wasn’t listed as a new character in theGenshin Impact6.X leaked banners, but since she’s leaked as a 4-star unit, her absence would make sense.
If HoYoverse truly gives Aino for free in Version 6.0, there is a big chance she will replace Xingqiu in future team comps. This is because they both seem to occupy the same role in parties: dealing off-field Hydro DMG to enemies and setting up the stage for Hydro-based Elemental Reactions.Xingqiu is still a very strong F2P unit to this day, but Aino has some advantages.
The first is that Aino may be able to match Xingqiu’s power in battle, making her extremely interchangeable with the Liyue character. The second advantage is thatAino allegedly grants access to exclusive Nod-Krai powers. According to her leaked kit, one of Aino’s Passive Talents says that when she is in the team, she provides bonus effects based on the party’s Lunar Phase.
If the Lunar Phase is at least Crescent, her Burst’s device is enhanced, firing water projectiles at shorter intervals and increasing the AoE Hydro DMG she deals. Additionally, when Aino’s in the team, she increases the Lunarity level by 1.
Lunar Phase is leaked as a mechanic that is exclusive to Nod-Krai characters. As such, Aino’s presence in teams with other members may improve the overall performance, something thatXingqiu inGenshin Impactwon’t be able to provide.

Lunar Phases May Affect Xingqiu’s Presence In Team Comps
Aino’s kit doesn’t highlight how Lunar Phases work, specifically, but another piece of information provided by Seele Leaks does offer more insight into it. As seen in the leak shared by user1per3on Reddit,the team’s Lunar Phase becomes Crescent/Gibbous when there are 1/2 Nod-Krai characters in the team. Different Nod-Krai characters may get bonuses when the Lunar Phase reaches different stages.
Based on the leak, it seems like Aino’s presence in any team comp will be enough to ensure she gets the bonus to her Burst, as long as you’ve unlocked her Passive Talent. However, other characters like Lauma or Flins, theleaked 5-star characters inGenshin Impact6.0, mayget a bonus from the Gibbous Lunar Phase, which would require at least a second Nod-Krai unit– and that’s where Aino would come in.
Aino may truly represent the end of an era for some F2P players inGenshin Impact, in the best possible way.
Lunar Phases will likely affect Xingqiu negatively, as he can’t offer the bonuses to other characters from Nod-Krai.If Aino at least matches his base gameplay power, I believe she’ll instantly become a substitute for Xingqiu, ending his long five-year reign as the best F2P Hydro sub-DPS.
For now, expectations regarding her potential should be kept in check. However, Aino may truly represent the end of an era for some F2P players inGenshin Impact, in the best possible way.
