Entertainment Weeklyhas now shared a gallery of first-look images fromWe Were Liars. They have also announced thatthe show will arrive on Prime Video on June 18. The images showcase both the teen characters and the adults in their lives. This includes multiple shots of Cadence, seeing her happiness during beachside moments with her friends Mirren (McGregor), Gat (Maheshwari), and Johnny (Zada) turn more sour, as in the solo shot where she is staring in fear at a mysterious envelope.

In addition to featuring the entire Sinclair family gathered together, the gallery also offers glimpses of Cadence’s Aunt Carrie’s partner Ed (Kohli) and her grandfather Harris (Morse), who generally seem concerned about the situation.Another image showcases a much less concerned Carrie(Gummer) lounging on beach chairs with Cadence’s mother Penny (FitzGerald) and their sister Bess (King). What This Means For We Were Liars
The Show Seems To Be Faithful To The Book
So far, these images make it seem that the upcoming show will be a faithful adaptation of the iconicyoung adult thriller book. However, the majority seem to be taken from the beginning of the story, during the early part of the Sinclair’s family gathering on a private island. This is likely the case because they want to avoid spoiling the twists and turns in the later episodes, but it does not necessarily offer insight into how closely those will hew to the original story.
The images also emphasize that the Sinclair family will be just as important to the show as they are to the novel. This makes sense, considering the fact thatall of the main characters are in some way linked to the extended Sinclair family. For instance, both Jonathan and Mirren are Cadence’s cousins, while Gat is Ed’s nephew. Even though Gat is not a blood relative, he is nevertheless present because of the Sinclairs and thus part of the family pressure that surrounds Cadence.
