One Piece’s Big Rocks Reveal Completely Changes Blackbeard’s Character
Blackbeard Will Never Be The Same Again
Finally getting confirmation that Blackbeard is Rocks’ son is a big reveal, and it’s one that completely changes his character. Not only does it add extra weight to Blackbeard’s rivalries with Luffy and Ace, as they both inherited Roger’s will and are fighting with Rocks’ son, but it makes Blackbeard’s betrayal of Whitebeard even worse in hindsight, as it means that Blackbeard spent decades trying to kill one of his father’s closest allies, even after he raised him like a son.
All of that makes Blackbeard an even more despicable villain because of how motivated he was by personal strife to commit his heinous acts, but at the same time, it’s incredibly fitting for him to be like that when he’s directly inheriting the will of a monster like Rocks. The reveal that Blackbeard is Rocks’ son only made his character better, and hopefully, there’s plenty more forOne Pieceto do with the reveal.
