One key actor who played an originalDextervillain recently teased that he will make his franchise return in the upcoming sequel seriesDexter: Resurrection. Following the streaming success of theDexterprequel seriesOriginal Sin, which was released last year,Resurrectionwill become the thirdDexterspin-off series and the second to star originalDexteractor Michael C. Hall. AfterDexter had apparently died inDexter: New Blood, the opening scene ofOriginal Sinproved that Dexter did survive a near-fatal gunshot from his son, Harrison. The trailer forDexter: Resurrectionfeatures the serial killer protagonist on a new adventure set in New York City.
In aTikTokposted on June 12, actor Christian Camargo – who playedBrian Moser, aka The Ice Truck Killer inDexterseason 1– hinted at his return inDexter: Resurrection. In the social media post, Camargo was on a TV production set before teasing his wardrobe that included Brian’s memorable outfit in the season 1 finale (his death). The last time Camargo appeared as Brian was when Dexter had visions of him in season 6. This strongly suggests thatBrian, like John Lithgow’s Trinity Killer and Jimmy Smits' Miguel Prado, will make some sort of appearance inDexter: Resurrection.

What Brian Moser Potentially Returning Means For Dexter: Resurrection
Moser Could Have A Brief Appearance Or Stay On As Part Of Dexter’s Dark Passenger
Camargo’s TikTok post, which ended with a reveal of Brian Moser’s original costume that he wore in the season 1 finale (see above), was also accompanied by the originalDextermain theme. This is a massive hint that Moser will appear inDexter: Resurrection, which premieres on August 12, 2025, in some capacity.
As Dexter wakes up from the hospital at the start ofResurrection, he is rumored to be visited by ghostly images of Trinity, Prado, Sgt. James Doakes, and likely Brian.

The extent of Moser’s return is unclear at this timeand could be either very brief, like Lithgow’s Trinity Killer is expected to be, or potentially more of a recurring role. As Dexter wakes up from the hospital at the start ofResurrection, he is rumored to be visited by ghostly images of Trinity, Prado, Sgt. James Doakes, and likely Brian.
There is, however, more of a possibility for Brian to stick around longer than the other ghosts of Dexter’s past. Some have speculated that Brian could take on some of the role of Dexter’s Dark Passenger, which has historically been played by James Remar’s Harry Morgan throughout the original series and by Jennifer Carpenter’s Debra inNew Blood. Since more of Brian’s backstory, particularly why Harry adopted Dexter and not Brian, is explored inOriginal Sin,Dexter: Resurrectionshowrunner Clyde Phillips may want to further explore this dynamic withboth Harry and Brian sharing the role of Dexter’s sinister spiritual guide.
Our Take On The Ice Truck Killer’s Likely Comeback
He Probably Won’t Be As Involved As He Was In Original Sin
Dexter: Resurrectionwill be expanding the Dexter franchise like never before, introducing a slate of new cast members such as Uma Thurman, Peter Dinklage, and Neil Patrick Harris. That said,Resurrectionwill still include key characters from the original series for the sake of continuity and nostalgia, such as Angel Batista and Harry as Dexter’s Passenger.
Brian will most likely only make a brief appearance, like Lithgow’s Trinity, especially because his character is dead. Since Brian emerged as a key character inOriginal Sin, it seems like more exploration will be done on his character in season 2 of the prequel, indicating that hisDexter: Resurrectionappearance should be short-lived.
