Pokémon GOis continuing its introduction of new Pokémon into the game, with its latest weekly event,Cozy Companions.Right off the back of thepopular Adventure Week 2025 event, Cozy Companions is set to drop with plenty more debuts, spawns, and rewards for trainers that playPokémon GOduring the event’s duration.
Cozy Companions is set to run fromWednesday, July 6, at 10am local time until Tuesday, August 12, at 8pm local time.There is paid timed research that trainers can purchase, but aside from this, the event is free for all players to take part in as soon as they log intoPokémon GO.

Two New Debuts And New Shiny Pokémon
Generation eight Pokémon,Snom and Frosmoth, are both set to make theirPokémon GOdebutsas part of the event. From the start of the event, Snom will be available to hatch from 7km eggs. These eggs are obtained when opening gifts from friends if you have space in your egg inventory. Once you have hatched one, it takes a huge 400 candies to evolve into Frosmoth, as well as earning 10 hearts with Snom as your buddy.
Two Pokémon also have their shiny versions added toPokémon GOfor the first time during the event, withTandemaus and Mausholdboth on offer. These can be found by completing timed research tasks in the game.
As part of the Cozy Companions event, six specific event-themed Pokémon will be spawning more regularly in the wild. While they aren’t therarest Pokémon inPokémon GO, they don’t appear often. These areAbra, Karrablast, Shelmet, Phantump, Geodude, and Alolan Geodude.On top of this, all of these Pokémon can potentially be caught in their shiny forms.

As well as a change in Pokémon spawns, there are further benefits for those playingPokémon GOwhile Cozy Companions is taking place. You will receive2x XP from each Egg that you hatch.For the event, the Pokémon you may hatch from Eggs will all stay the same except the 7km Eggs, which have been updated to includeGalarian Farfetch’d, Pancham, Snom, and Charcadet.
Each player will also be able to executeone additional special trade per day, andfriendship levels between trainers will increase fasterthan normal. This is achieved through various activities such as opening gifts, trading, battling with friends in raids, or facing off againstTeam GO Rocket Leader Giovanni.
Finally, field research, timed research, and paid timed research will be available during the event. These will reward players with a variety of items, as well as encounters with event-themed Pokémon such as Snom and Tandemaus.
Pokémon GO’sCozy Companions event is one of the smaller ones on offer, but two debuts and two new shiny Pokémon make it worthwhile to play.
