Pokémon GOhas a new weekly event coming for trainers as the Water Festival 2025 is set to make a splash. Following on from the recentPokémonGOFest 2025, Water Festival 2025 presents trainers with lots of bonuses for trainers. The event will take place fromTuesday, July 15 until Sunday, July 20.
As with many of the weekly events inPokémonGO, Water Festival 2025 provides trainers with specific Pokémon spawning in the wild, a different set of raids to tackle and lots of rewards for everyone that plays. However, this event brings with it a unique debut which trainers will not want to miss. This comes withpotential major updates inPokémonGO.

A Regional Debut For The Event
The biggest incentive to play thePokémonGOWater Festival 2025 event is tocatchthedebutingTatsugiri. The Gen 9 Pokémon is available in three different forms in One Star Raid Battles depending on which region of the world you are in. The Curly Form is available for trainers in Europe, Middle East or Africa, the Droopy Form in the Americas and the Stretchy Form in Asia-Pacific.
In addition,15WaterPokémonwillhaveincreasedspawnratesduring the event. Squirtle, Slowpoke, Krabby, Staryu, Magikarp, Marilyn, Barboach, Clamperl, Buizel, Finneon, Wimpod, Lanturn, Feebas, Palpitoad, Tirtouga all can be found more commonly in the wild during the event, with the majority also available in their shiny form.

7 New Raids Available
On top of the numerous event Pokémon appearing more often in the wild, there are also new Pokémon appearing in raids for the duration of the event. In one-star raids,ShellderandDucklettreturn, butTatsugiriis the one every trainer will be after.
One-star raids can be easily beaten by solo trainers.
Three star-raids have also been updated for the event, with four rare Pokémon available.Kingler,Lapras(Scarf),Gyaradosall return from Gen 1, whileAzumarillfrom Gen 2 is also available. If you use a squad with perfect counters, you can defeat these raids on your own, but they are easier alongside other players. A number of these Pokémon are useful fordefeating Team GO Rocket Leader Giovanni.

Finally,thereareeventrewardsforalltrainersparticipatingin this year’s Water Festival event. If you use a Rainy Lure module it will last for two hours. For all nice throws or better, you will earn additional candies. As a bonus, several rare Shiny versions of Pokémon are also available at a higher rate than normal. These are Staryu, Starmie, Tirtouga and Carracosta, who are all worth finding inPokémonGO.
