As you set out to pit your Pokemon against legendary bosses inPokemon GOBattle Raids, you’ll want to make sure you have the right squad for the job. Two Pokemon that are particularly tempting to add to your line up areSnorlaxand Blissey, but think twice before going into battle with these tanks.

Snorlax and Blissey are two enormous favorites in thePokemon GOcommunity, and they certainly have their place in the game. The strongest stat for these giants is HP, which keeps them standing long after smaller Pokemon have fallen in battle. These two are both excellent defenders and are solid choices for holding down your team’s gym. Forlegendary Battle Raids, however, it’s best to keep Snorlax and Blissey out of the action. This may not seem intuitive, but we’ll explain why…

The name of the game in Battle Raids is dealing max damage quickly. In order to beat the fast clock and take down the legendary boss, players must deal as much damage to the legendary Pokemon as possible. There is no bonus for having Pokemon still standing at the end, so aside from saving Revives and Potions, there’s no reason to worry about survivability. In addition, players who deal the most damage during the battle are rewarded with additional premier pokeballs to use in the bonus catch attempt after the battle. When players are trying to get those limited availability legendaries, every extra premier ball counts.

If you’re having trouble deciding on a roster after cutting Snorlax and Blissey, these Pokemon are hard-hitters in Battle Raids and are worth considering for your squad.
