With nice and great throws being counted as excellent throws, severalPokemon GOfans who were stuck on level 49, or were struggling to complete the Jirachi research, were finally able to pass the frustrating hurdles. Amid that, a player seems to have come across an extremely rare spawn in the wild.
In a post on thePokemon GOsubreddit, user HoneyBee098 documents their encounter in the wild with an Unown. The Unown in question is the S-form of the Pokemon.Unown’s 28 formsmake it one of the most unique Pokemon. Each of these forms corresponds to a specific letter in the alphabet, along with a question mark and exclamation mark form. However, it’s not the forms that make it rare; instead, it’s because the Pokemon in itself is so hard to get on a regular day.

In fact, several players on the post were actually quite perplexed at the revelation, since they believed that Unown could only be caught in special events. It is crucial to note that it is not that difficult to get this Pokemon in particular, since it has been a part of GO Fest and other raids in the past. However, when it comes to the wild, they are one of therarest Pokemon one could find inPokemon GO.
A player also narrated a similar incident where they found Unown through a tracker, and drove for 10 minutes at 3 in the morning to get the elusive Pokemon. The original poster didn’t get theirs that easily as well, as they highlighted they had to get out in the rain to catch the S-form Unown.

Other players are already suggesting some creative names for the Pokemon to make the incident memorable, with “Storm” being one of the top-voted recommendations. While the player’s encounter debunks the myth of Unown being event-exclusive, players are better off waiting for the next event to feature Unown. That being said, while there are some excitingevents lined up in April forPokemon GO, unfortunately, none of them feature Unown so far.
