Ever since the latest update to Niantic’s incredibly-successfulPokemon GO, players all over the globe have been coming together to tackle gyms in the newchallenging raid battles. The encounters, which can be entered by using a daily free Raid Pass (or purchasing another through the in-game shop), see players from any team battling strong creatures side-by-side, but it’s not always clear where to find them.
Rather than manually searching for the gyms that house the bosses,Pokemon GOplayers can use third-party site GymHuntr to see which challenges are currently available. The application will scan an area, letting players know where raids are currently occurring, as well as informing the user as to which team currently holds each gym.
A scan can be performed every 90 seconds, which should allowPokemon GOfans to keep up to date with every new raid that becomes available as they appear. Pink timers will indicate a battle that is starting soon, while an orange tag reveals an active raid.
Recently, a change to the game has allowedany player over level 20to access the raids for themselves, so GymHuntr will prove more useful than ever to thePokemon GOfan base. This is a big change from the day raid battles launched, where only those who has surpassed level 35 were allowed to participate, and is sure to bring a lot more players to gyms.
For players who were part of the initialPokemon GOhype but have since lost interest and drifted away from the game, we’ve put together a list ofall the changes that have been madesince many users quit playing. Niantic are surely looking to attractPokemonfans back to the game with coming updates, but we’re yet to see if the new changes to the way gym battles operate is enough to do the trick.
Pokemon GOis available now on iOS and Android devices.
