The name of the villain inPoppy Playtime: Chapter 5may have just been revealed via several Mob Entertainment copyright pages. The next chapter in thePoppy Playtimemascot horror saga likely won’t release until next year, but fans may have just gotten a sneak peek of what to expect when the creepy story resumes.

YouTuberCopperspotted a number of copyright filings by Mob Entertainment onTrademarkia, a trademark website that has previously revealed early information about upcomingPoppy Playtimecharacters. The latest filing wasregistered on July 10 for a character called Chum Chompkins. It’s unclear at this time if this character will appear in the next chapter of the game or an unannounced project, but it seems likely to be aChapter 5villain since it was filed on its own, instead of in a group with other characters (as would be expected of a new game).

Leaked Poppy Playtime Villain Name May Reveal Its Character

Fans Predict A Fish-Like Mascot

Though there’s not much to go on, it’s still possible to speculate about the type of character Chum Chompkins has based on its name. The consensus among the community seems to be thatthe new mascot will be some sort of fish, since “chum” is both the word for fish chunks and for a type of salmon that certainly looks very chompy. The word “chum” can also mean friend, which would go with the idea of the mascot being a “friend” to the children at Playtime Co.

Mob Entertainment filed several Trademarks in July, one of which isSmiling Critters Survivors!,as spotted byLumajusoTV, which is thought to be an upcoming mobile game. Chum Chompkins may be a name related to that as-yet-unannounced game, rather than aChapter 5villain.

Mob Entertainment hasn’t made any official announcements about the new character yet, so it’s unclear if Chum will even be avillain or an ally, or something else altogether. Since the name implies a fish-like character, though,it’s possible thatPoppy Playtimemay be sending players underwater for its next installment.
