It’s been eight years since Rockstar Games first releasedGrand Theft Auto 5, andGrand Theft Auto 6is still nowhere in sight. While Rockstar Games itself has yet to actually even acknowledge the existence ofGrand Theft Auto 6, fans have been picking apart all of theGTA Onlineupdates and whatever else they can find in search of clues for the game. Now it seems that one potential clue has been spotted in the recently releasedGrand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition.
InGrand Theft Auto 3, there’s a Francis International airport billboard that teasesGrand Theft Auto: Vice Cityby showing a plane with the text “See You In Miami.” Those playingGrand Theft Auto 3didn’t know it at the time, but the billboard was clearly meant to teaseVice City, as the titular city is based on Miami, Florida. Since Rockstar Games used that billboard to teaseGrand Theft Auto: Vice Cityin the past, it didn’t takeGTAfans long to make a beeline straight to it in theDefinitive Editionto see if it changed.

Upon checking out theVice Citybillboard inGrand Theft Auto 3: The Definitive Edition, however, fans will notice that it doesn’t look quite the same. The billboard has been changed so it now says “See You Soon,” and instead ofVice Cityimagery, it appears to be showing Los Santos. Now, some fans think that this tease is simply a reference to the upcoming re-release ofGrand Theft Auto 5, but others think that it’s actually a tease forGTA 6.
The reason why some fans think that the billboard is actually meant to teaseGrand Theft Auto 6instead of theGTA 5next-gen portsis because the plane appears to be departingfromthe Los Santos beach instead ofarrivingat it. Some fans are taking this to mean that Rockstar Games is teasing thatGTAplayers will finally be leaving Los Santos and moving on toGrand Theft Auto 6, though that is likely a pretty big reach.
The other part of the theory is that the “S” in the “Fly Us” on the airplane looks like a “6,” akaGrand Theft Auto 6. While it’s certainly possible thatRockstar Gamesis using this billboard to teaseGrand Theft Auto 6, the more likely explanation is that the billboard is teasing theGrand Theft Auto 5next-gen ports, so fans should keep their expectations in check.
While no official information onGrand Theft Auto 6exists at the time of this writing, leakers have suggested thatGTA 6is in development hell. Whether or not there’s any truth to that remains to be seen, however.
Grand Theft Auto 6is rumored to be in development.
