Both were critically acclaimed amongthe best TMNT crossovers, and now, it’s time to round out the trilogy.

After the last series saw the Rangers and the Turtles defeat Rita Repulsa and Krang, the trailer promises to close the trilogy out with Lord Zedd and Shredder serving as antagonists.

Mighty Morphin Power RangersandTeenage Mutant Ninja Turtlesmake up two of the most beloved children’s franchises of the 90s. While these comics are not the first time such a crossover has taken place (that honor goes to the “Shell Shocked” episode ofPower Rangers in Space), bringing these two entities together in the present has served as a fun means of tapping into 90s nostalgia. The kids of that era have since morphed into adults who have thoroughly enjoyed the original comic book series and its sequel.
Although theTeenage Mutant Ninja Turtlesgained popularity through its 90s cartoons, the franchise has its roots in Mirage Comics' grittier, darker storylines in 1984, created by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird geared towards older audiences.
In addition, both series have added to the lore of both franchises, often by giving familiar characters likeShredder all-new redesignsand power upgrades based on the other franchise’s influence. A similar approach is expected for the third entry into this trilogy. The union of these two fan-favorites was every child’s wildest dream a few decades ago. Now, that dream gets to become a reality, not just once or twice, but for a third consecutive time. Some are hoping that the this won’t be the last, but there is much to be excited about for this third entry.

Shredder Returns to Fight the Turtles and the Power Rangers Once More
The original series saw the Rangers team with the Turtles againstShredder, who corrupted Tommy’s DragonzordPower Coin for his own pleasure. In the sequel, he begrudgingly formed an alliance with the heroes to take down Rita Repulsa and Krang. Now,Shredder’s back with a vengeance and a partnership with Lord Zedd. Both men are viewed as the two most intimidating villains in 90s pop culture history. Joining them together could make for a diabolical pairing to oppose thePower Rangersand theTeenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
