In a world where revivals, reboots, and sequels are taking over, one can’t help but wonder ifiZombie’s story could also continue, butformer star Rahul Kohli isn’t so sure about the idea.Rob Thomas and Diane Ruggiero-Wright’ssupernatural procedural drama ran for five seasonsand 71 episodes on The CW. It ended in August 2019. Since then, there haven’t been any murmurs about bringing the show back. However, that doesn’t mean aniZombierevival is completely out of the realm of possibility. It’s just improbable, as Kohli pointed out.

During an interview withScreenRant’s Tessa Smith for Kohli’s new series,Prime Video’sWe Were Liars, Smith asked the actor about a hypotheticaliZombierevival. Kohli, who played Ravi Chakrabarti in The CW show, shot the idea down. But,he admitted that he could be persuaded to be a part of a sequel series.Kohli even joked about how he would have to be paid handsomely to return to theiZombieuniverse. ScreenRant: Would you ever come back to the world of iZombie, given that there are so many revivals happening now and the show is very loved?

Rahul Kohli: No, but for good reason, for good reason. I know we told the story that Rob Thomas wanted to tell, and that is, it is in its complete form. It’s so rare nowadays that you get to finish on your terms. However, if everyone, including, uh, so if every member of the, of the cast and Rob and Diane and the whole team came back together for a special or a film, of course I would, but I’ll be a lot more expensive this time.

What Rahul Kohli’s Comments Mean For A Possible iZombie Sequel

The Chances Of A Revival Are Low

Based on Kohli’s reaction to the suggestion of aniZombierevival, it seems quite unlikely that one will come to fruition. For a revival to be successful, original characters are needed, and Kohli’s Ravi was undoubtedly one of the most important figures in the supernatural procedural drama. It also doesn’t help that the show’s star, Rose McIver, dismissed the possibility of returning toiZombiewhile speaking with Michael Rosenbaum on hisInside of Uspodcast. Plus, most of the cast members (including Kohli and McIver) have been quite busy since the series finale.

However, while Kohli and McIver were hesitant to say that aniZombiesequel series was imminent, they didn’t completely shut it down. For Kohli, the conditions would have to feel right for him to return. The same can probably be said for McIver. So, never say never, but the odds ofiZombieseason 6 happeningare low.

Our Take On An iZombie Revival

Does The CW Show Need Another Go Around?

As Kohli mentioned in his interview withScreenRant, theiZombiecast and crew got the chance to end their story on their terms. Most TV shows don’t get that privilege. Perhaps Rob Thomas will get hit with a bout of inspiration that convinces him to return to the supernatural procedural drama’s world. However, until that happens, no one should mess with the original ending. Yes, the series finale is controversial, but it wrapped up the story. Opening that box again could easily ruin something that was already complete, and no one wants to see a revival taintiZombie’s legacy.
