Warning: Spoilers ahead forResident Alienseason 4, episode 10, “The End Is Here.“Resident Alien’s final episode,“The End Is Here,” is almost a flawless effort, but it falls short of perfection due to how one character ends the show. Although the finale opened up severalnew storylines in the event of aResident Alienrevival, there are currently no plans to make more episodes of the show.
Thankfully, showrunner Chris Sheridan penned a fitting scriptto wrap things up forAlan Tudyk’s Harry Vanderspeigleand company. That said, the final storyline for one member of theResident Aliencastfelt very rushed. While it works, the speed at which the arc concludes is a rare sign of the finale not having quite enough time to give everyone a perfect farewell.

Liv’s Fascinating Turnaround On Alien Life Ends Far Too Soon
Her Experience With The Mantid Only Ruins Her Biggest Hobby For Less Than An Episode
Elizabeth Bowen’s DeputyLiv Baker spends most ofResident Alienobsessed with alien lifeand desperate to come face-to-face with an extraterrestrial lifeform. It’s one of her character’s biggest traits, which is why it feels like such a big deal when she has such a notable change of heart inResident Alien’s penultimate episode, “Tunnel Vision.”
Liv’s close call with the Mantid babies makes her hostile towards aliens, and she spends a lot of the finale looking for Harry’s arrest rather than offering her support in quelling the threat raised by Ethan (Michael Cassidy). However, the drastic change in Liv’s attitude essentially disappears before the end of “The End Is Here.”

IfResident Alienhad another season, it would have been great to further explore how Liv feels about aliens after “Tunnel Vision,” but the show didn’t have long to make Liv come to terms with her negative feelings and push them aside. She can even be seen smiling and waving Harry goodbyein the final moments of “The End Is Here.”
What “The End Is Here” does well for Liv is give her a new fascination, even if she drops her interest in aliens a little too suddenly. Both she and Mike (Corey Reynolds) are enlisted by a mysterious organization near the end of the episode. While being recruited,Liv tricks her new employer into revealing information that confirms the existence of fairies.

Resident Alien’s Final Episode Still Pulled Off The Impossible In Just 45 Minutes
All Of The Main Patience Townsfolk Get A Happy Ending
Liv’s surprisingly fast turnaround when it comes to alien life is one of the small prices that had to be paid forResident Alien’s finale to be so great. ConsideringChris Sheridan’s script only had 45 minutes to give everyone a happy ending, he managed to pull it off with impressive efficiency.
Every main character ends the story in an improved position, which reinforces the ongoing theme of how Harry was quietly making Patience a better place and how the town was making him develop in better ways as well. PlusResident Alien’s finale made sure the story will still be going on/repeating itself offscreen, so the show technically isn’t over.
