Rick & Morty Season 8 Introduces Us To The Jerry Who Got Replaced By Paul Fleishman

Beth Divorced Five O’Clock Shadow Jerry & Got Remarried To Paul

In season 2, episode 2, “Mortynight Run,” when Rick and Morty went off to Blips and Chitz to play some arcade games, they left Jerry at Jerryboree.Jerryboree is an interdimensional daycare center for Jerrys, and while he was staying there, Jerry met a bunch of other Jerrys.

A man named Paul Fleishman claimed that in his universe, Beth divorced Jerry and got remarried to him.

But one character at this daycare center stood out from the rest. A man named Paul Fleishman claimed that in his universe, Beth divorced Jerry and got remarried to him.It didn’t seem like we’d ever see Paul again, but he made a surprising return in this week’sRick and Mortyepisode.

As they make their way along the Road, five o’clock shadow Jerry tells our Jerry that his family left him and moved on. When he takes our Jerry to his original universe — where, it turns out, everyone has a five o’clock shadow (even Beth and Summer) —it turns out that this is the universe where Beth married Paul.

Paul’s Personality Confirms Why Beth Is With Jerry

Beth Just Wants A Safe, Dependable, Average Guy

The fact that five o’clock shadow Beth remarried Paul after divorcing Jerry says a lot aboutBeth and Jerry’s relationship. Beth often complains about the lack of excitement in her marriage to Jerry. Jerry is a very nebbish, neurotic guy who doesn’t like taking risks, so they never travel or do anything fun.

Rick and Mortyairs new episodes on Adult Swim every Sunday.

But Beth’s remarriage to Paul shows that she’s not really looking for those things.Paul is a lot like Jerry; he’s just a regular, unexciting man who’s there for the kids and is madly in love with Beth.Rick and Mortyhas shown time and time again that that’s all Beth really wants: a safe, dependable, average guy to fawn over her.
