With the exception of 2018,Nintendohas hosted a Nintendo Direct presentation in February every year since 2012. Considering this, it’s no surprise that many fans assume that there will be a new Nintendo Direct for February 2020, but what may surprise some is that Nintendo apparently hastwoDirects planned for this month.

This rumor comes from Sabi, who got the information from “a reliable friend” named Zippo. Sabi has been known for accurate leaks in the past, so while fans should still take this rumor with a grain of salt, it does have a bit more credibility than most. At any rate, the claim is that Nintendo will host one of the Direct presentations on February 20 and it will focus onAnimal Crossing: New Horizons, whereas the other Direct will be for upcoming Switch releases in general.

Again, none of this information has been confirmed, but it makes sense for a few reasons. Besides the fact that Nintendo has almost always hosted a Direct presentation in February, there have been a number of Switch leaks lately that could very well indicate a new Direct is on the way. Plus,GameStop has listed unnamed SKUsin its database, and when that happens, a Nintendo Direct is usually right around the corner.

Since Nintendo Direct presentations are usually held on Thursdays, the non-Animal Crossingone would presumably come on February 6, 13, or 27. It seems more likely that it would happen before theAnimal Crossing: New HorizonsDirect, though so February 13 may be the most likely possibility. This is just speculation, though, and we can’t rule out the possibility that Nintendo won’t host a new Nintendo Direct in February at all.

If Nintendo does host a new Nintendo Direct presentation in February, one has to wonder what it will announce. It’s possible it will announce the rumoredSuper Mario 3D WorldSwitch port, and maybe it will announce the new racing game that Sabi teased earlier. Many have assumed that new racing game is the nextMario Kart, but perhaps it’s the rumoredStar Foxracing game that’s supposedly be in the works at Retro Studios.

Assuming these leaks are accurate and Nintendo is truly going to host aNintendo Direct presentationthis month, we can expect to get an official announcement sooner rather than later.
