Britt Lower, who playsHelly R inSeverance, has been nominated for the 2025 Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series. This is significant, whether she walks away with a win or not, sincethis same star was snubbed for this nomination back in 2022.
AfterSeveranceseason 1, Patricia Arquette, who plays Harmony Cobel, was nominated for the 2022 Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress, but Lower was, unfortunately, snubbed. This was quite a shock, since the actress had given an exceptional performance inSeverance’s first installment, certainly as much of a standout as Arquette.
Thankfully, Lower has finally been recognized for her work onSeveranceafter season 2, which saw her play not only Helly R but also her Outie, Helena Eagan, in near equal measure. It was a nuanced and impactful performance, and one that could very well earn Lower the win. Said and done, this and victory in other categories could allowSeveranceto break more records during the 2025 Emmy Award season.
