A young unnamed Jedi has entered and tries to do a Jedi Mind Trick. Ventress is keeping the boy from being caught by the Empire now that he’s walked inside the place. Ventress uses a mind trick on the stormtroopers.

The Path network is mentioned by the young Jedi, and he confirms Quinlan Vos established the Path. Ventress' interest is piqued.

Ventress fights an Inquisitor, duel-wielding with her own lightsaber and the young Jedi’s. “You don’t fight like a Jedi… I know who you are” - Inquisitor. The Padawan kills the Inquisitor and saves Ventress.

Ventress recounts her Clone Wars life to the kid, “My name is Asajj Ventress” and the episode ends.

All in all, it sounds like this episode is going to be a great start for Ventress' arc inTales of the Underworld, especially because it’s taking the time to finally explain her resurrection in theStar Warstimeline.

Tales Of The Underworld Builds On The Ending Of Dark Disciple

Following The Unfinished Clone Wars Arc That Became A Novel

The 2015 novelDark Disciplewas based onVentress and Quinlan Vos' unfinished arc ofClone Warsepisodes. In it, Asajj and Quinlan fell in love, and Ventress ultimately gave her life to save Vos from Count Dooku. As such, it seems as though this first episode ofTales of the Underworldwill adapt the book’s final chapter, where Quinlan and Obi-Wan Kenobi laid Ventress' body to rest with her fellow Nightsisters on Dathomir.

It’s worth noting that the book did tease Asajj’s resurrection, andVentress subsequently appeared alive and well inThe Bad Batchseason 3.However, the details were agonizingly left incredibly ambiguous. Now,Tales of the Underworldwill finally, fully explain how Ventress came back to life during the Imperial Era (and not as an unread Nightsister zombie), having made a deal with the spirit of Mother Talzin, with the cost being the giving up of her heart’s desire (Quinlan).

Our Thoughts On Ventress' Resurrection

Star Wars Is Finally Clearing Things Up In The Coolest Way Possible

It’s very exciting to see Ventress protecting a Padawan from a brand-new Imperial Inquisitor in this episode. However, what’s even more fascinating is the potential that Ventress might reunite with Quinlan Vos, who’s confirmed as the Jedi survivor who founded the Hidden Path network first seen inObi-Wan Kenobi. That said, one has to wonder what the cost of Ventress' resurrection will mean for her relationship with Quinlan, and if a reunion is even possible for the two star-crossed lovers asTales of the Underworldcontinues.
