Revealed at Star Wars Celebration 2025, Lucasfilm and Epic Games have revealed that a fullyStar Wars-themed season will launch on May 2nd, just in time forStar Wars Day on May the Fourth.Featuring Darth Jar Jar, Emperor Palpatine, The Death Star, starfighter vehicles like X-Wings and TIEs, mash-up characters, and constant additions to the gameplay each week, the newStar Warsseason of Fortnite is shaping up to be one of its best yet:

Not only are epic dogfights between X-Wings and TIE Fighters featured, but a fleet of Imperial Star Destroyers is shown alongside a brief tease of none other thanJedi Master Mace Windu himself with his iconic purple lightsaber, as well as a Tatooine-themed location and a squad of Mandalorians. To that end, it’s more than likely that Epic Games has plenty of surprises in store for players beyond what’s been confirmed in the Star Wars Celebration announcement and trailer alone.
A New Star Wars Event Each Week In Fortnite
From May 2nd-June 7th
One of the most exciting things about the upcoming Fortnite xStar Warscrossover is the confirmation that each week will feature a new type of mission/gameplay addition. Adventures/missions will include:
One can imagine that the final week’s “Death Star Sabotage” will likely be a culminating live event, one that sees the island’s residents banding together to destroy the fully armed and operational battle station (not unlike last year’sAbsolute Doomcrossover with Marvel Comics and the battle against Victor von Doom).Regardless, it’s going to be very exciting to log on each week during the crossover to see what new cosmetics and galactic adventures are added from the galaxy far, far away.

Fortnite’snewStar Warscrossover begins on May 2nd from Lucasfilm and Epic Games.
Fortnite
Fortnitetook the world by storm on its 2017 release, and it’s still one of the most popular battle royale games in the world despite stiff competition fromApex LegendsandCall of Duty: Warzone. Like all games in the genre, the objective is to be the last player standing at the end, and one of the biggest differences is its tie-in characters from Star Wars and other popular franchises. The game has fast-paced gameplay, and players must rush to find weapons scattered throughout the map. Where it differs from other Battle Royales is the building mechanic, which allows you to build fortifications to protect yourself from enemy fire and delay advancing opposition.Fortnitedidn’t have a split-screen mode in its official release, and Epic Games only added the feature in Chapter 2. The mode allows up to two players to enjoy the game in a horizontal or vertical orientation.Split-screeninFortniteis available for Duos or Squads, so you can play with friends at home and team up with online players.
