InStardew Valley, the combat system is pretty easy to learn. Walk up to an enemy and click to swing. The only real differences in combat styles are how quickly players swing and how much damage each swing is worth.

Clubs are the weapons of choice for players who prefer to make each click count. They’re slow, but hit hard enough to send enemies flying across the cave floor. With the right timing, players won’t need to spam buttons too hard to win. The real question is, which clubs give heavy-hitting players the best bang for their buck?

The Slammer

40-55

Kudgel

Where to Obtain:

In truth, lower-level clubs usually aren’t worth the trouble. The decrease in speed makes them pretty cumbersome, and the damage output just isn’t worth it compared to a good sword. Let’s face it:Stardew Valleyreally likes makinggood swords. This can make it hard for players to branch out with their preferred weapons.

But whileThe Slammeris still pretty slow, it’s one of the better early-game options for clubs. It’s the first one where players can really get some satisfaction out of spacing out their attacks. It probably won’t be anyone’s go-to weapon for long, but it’s a good option forclub-wielders who are just starting out.

Dwarf Hammer

27-40

Dragonstone Club

If the Slammer didn’t sell gamers on clubs, theKudgeljust might. Even though it’s a lower level and does less damage than the Slammer, the Kudgel has stats that more than make up for it. For starters, its negative Speed stat is lesser, and its Weight of +2 gives each swing an additional knockback.

That’s the main draw of using clubs — it’s harder for enemies to corner the player when they’re being hurled through the air. This also gives players a little breathing room to down some food if they’re low on health. Even better, the Kudgel also has an impressive Crit. Power +50, meaning that when players land a critical hit, it’s going to deal atonof extra damage.

Galaxy Hammer

Infinity Gavel

Volcano Dungeon Chest

Dwarves are typically known for being sturdy fighters, using heavy battle hammers to send enemies flying. TheDwarf Hammerallows players to do exactly that, with a little extra defense boost to boot.

Speaking of stats, notice something missing? That’s right — higher-level do away with the decreased speed. After all, a good club knows how to throw its weight around. And with aWeight of +5, the Dwarf Hammer sends enemies clear across the board.

If players don’t find the Dwarf Hammer while exploring the volcano, they might just find something even better. The only thing sturdier than a dwarf is a dragon.

TheDragontooth Clubis easily the best club weapon found onGinger Island. While its Weight is slightly less than the Dwarf Hammer, it easily outclasses it in terms of raw damage output. And besides, sometimes playersdon’twant to wait a whole year for enemies to come back in range for another swing.

Adventurer’s Guild (after obtaining the Galaxy Sword)

Think of theGalaxy Hammeras the perfect blend between the Dwarf Hammer and the Dragontooth Club. It hits likes a freight train, knocks enemies back, and it even has a speed boost. That’s right, not adecrease, aboost. It’s like all the benefits of a great sword without any of the downsides of a club.

But let’s say that players already have a Dragontooth Club and just aren’t willing to give up on the extra damage. Well, don’t worry. Because unlike every other type of weapon in the game, the Galaxy Weapons can be upgraded. Thanks to the1.5 update, they now have a final form.

Combine the Galaxy Hammer with 3 Galaxy Souls in the Forge

Collecting Galaxy Souls is no small feat. Players need to get to Ginger Island, unlock Qi’s Walnut Room, and either complete a whole bunch of his special questsorcraft10 Radioactive Barsto give the Island Trader. It’s the ultimate test of the player’s skill, but the reward for doing so is well worth it.

It can be tough to decide whichGalaxy weapon to upgrade first(assuming players want to upgrade more than one, of course). TheInfinity Gaveldefinitely makes a strong case for itself, though. It has the biggest damage output in the entire game, bar none. Add to that its boost to Speed, Defense, andWeight, and it definitely gives the other Infinity weapons some stiff competition.
