AStardew Valleyplayer’s great time-saving trick has backfired in the cutest possible way. It seems like every day that someStardewplayer takes to social mediato share some incredible detailor bizarre little in-game trick they’ve discovered. It speaks to the nature ofStardewas a deceptively massive game, with thousands of possibilities that you have to discover organically through experimentation.

And the latestStardew Valleydiscovery -while not necessarily new- is just as astonishingly convenient as the last one, with a uniquely adorable twist. Reddit userLazyBeachshared a post about a common time-savingStardew Valleytrick:placing a bed in your barn so you don’t have to worry about making it all the way back homeif you’re out burning the midnight oil.

And LazyBeach’s iteration of this frequently recurringStardewtip had a unique twist:they had caught two different farm animals, a pig and a chicken, sleeping in their barn-bedon two separate occasions.

Yes, You Can Put Beds In Buildings You’ve Built

“Wait Does This Actually Work?”

In the comments of LazyBeach’s post, many players expressed shock at the revelation that you can place a bed anywhere other than inside your house. One commenter,BlackberryHuman2328, commented, “Does this actually work?? I could put one at the mine entrance…”

Now, that was a great idea in theory. The mine entrance is so inconveniently located relative to your farm. It’d be great to be able to leave the mine and have a place to sleep straight away; this would allow you to spend a little extra time in the mine last night, since you wouldn’t have to account for the commute home.

However, as many commenters were quick to point out,you may only place beds in buildings that you’ve constructed. That includes most of the structures on your farms, though, so you can sleep in your barn, your coop, your Ginger Island farmhouse, et cetera.

A Genius Tip For Stardew

A Great Time-Saver

Even so,putting your bed in buildings other than your farmhouse still has its benefits. You can save certain farm chores, like checking on your animals or watering the plants in your greenhouse, for late at night, taking care of them right before the clock hits 2 AM.

Put a bed nearby, and go straight to sleep afterward, and you’ll still earn yourself a few precious extra minutes each day. It’s not exactlya game-changing strategyfor longtimeStardew Valleyplayers, but every second counts in Pelican Town. Just watch out for pigs before you lie down.
