Inspired by a series of novels by Robyn Carr,Sullivan’s Crossingis a romantic drama that balances fraught daily history with the modern relationships in a small town on the Canadian-American border.
The series begins when Maggie Sullivan (Morgan Kohan) suffers a career setback in Boston. The neurosurgeon decides to leave the city and return to the campground her father runs to recharge. She and her father (Scott Patterson), however, have been estranged ince she was a teenager.
Maggie’s attempt to hold onto her life and Boston while making a home at the Crossing is what fuels a lot of the conflict in the first season of the show.By season 3, however,Sullivan’s Crossing’sensemble has expandedand become a series about all forms of love and relationships.

Maggie sees Sully as the father who abandoned her when they first reunite, but she also sees Sully inspire loyalty in everyone around him.Sully runs Sullivan’s Crossing, a campground passed down through his family. Though he struggles to keep it afloat, he also treats the grounds as his family legacy and treats the land and its original inhabitants with the respect they deserve.

Character:Cal Jones is a bit of a mystery at the start of the show. He has been staying at Sullivan’s Crossing and helping out where he can, but the former lawyer is really decompressing from a tragic past, not unlike many of the people who find themselves drawn to the Crossing.
He is someone who is always there for the Sullivans, whether that be to help with repairs, tracking down lost campers, or helping them to save the campground from being sold.

She is often a proponent of taking the simplest approach to a problem before overthinking matters. Edna’s compassion and her willingness to problem-solve make her the beating heart ofSullivan’s Crossing.

In addition to the main characters who live and work out of Sullivan’s Crossing, there are plenty of other friends who live in the small town and help to flesh out the storylines and relationships between the characters.
Lindura As Sydney Shandon: Sydney is Maggies oldest friend in town. A former model, Sydney helps her brother run a restaurant in town and often takes care of her nephew.
Reid Price As Rob Shandon: Sydney’s brother, Rob runs a local restaurant that was the dream of his late wife. Since his wife’s death, he has had trouble connecting with his young son.
Amalia Williamson As Lola Gunderson:Lola is initially an antagonist for Maggiein the series. The two grew up together, and Maggie often viewed Lola as her replacement since Sully helped Lola and her mother after a family tragedy.
Dakota Taylor As Rafe Vadas: Rafe is one of the local firefighters. While he’s friendly with Maggie and Cal, he is Sydney’s primary love interest in the series, who has trouble trusting her.
Lynda Boyd As Phoebe Lancaster: Phoebe is Maggie’s mother, who moved her daughter to Boston when she and Sully divorced. Phoebe is wealthy and wants the best for her daughter, but does not always understand the simplicity of the Crossing.
Peter Outerbridge As Walter Lancaster: Walter is Maggie’s stepfather and a respected neurosurgeon himself. Maggie looked up to him and wanted to follow in his footsteps, but their relationship became complicated when he became involved in a scandal.
Allan Hawco As Andrew Matthews: Andrew is a respected doctor in Boston and Maggie’s boyfriend when the series opens. He does not understand her connection to Sullivan’s Crossing and proves himself to be a very jealous man.
Kate Vernon As Helen Culver: Helen Culver joins the series in season 3 as a guest renting one of the cabins at the Crossing for an extended stay. A writer,she becomes Sully’s first real love interestin the series.
Joel Ouelette as Jacob Cranebear: Jacob joinsSullivan’s Crossingin season 3 as a younger cousin of Frank Cranebear. His presence helps to flesh out Frank’s backstory, but he also becomes a new love interest for Lola.
