Despite a number ofmajor superhero films being delayed to next yearin accordance with the spread of the coronavirus,Superman: Man of Tomorrow,a new animated film based around the titular DC hero, will supposedly still be hitting screens this year. Better yet, it seems the cast for the movie has finally been shown off, with a number of significant names heading up the film’s leading roles.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the film will see Darren Criss ofGleeandMidwayfame taking on the role of Superman, whileStar TrekandHeroes’Zachary Quinto will step into the shoes of his arch-nemesis, Lex Luthor. Alongside the two iconic DC characters,BaywatchandTrue Detectivestar Alexandra Daddario will assume the role of Louis Lane, whileAgents of SHIELDandUntil Dawnstar Brett Dalton will take on Lobo.

Finally,The Walking Dead’sRyan Hurst will assume the mantel of supervillain Parasite, while Ike Amadi, a star who recently featured inMortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion’s Revenge,will play Martian Manhunter. Supposedly, the plot will follow “Clark Kent working as an intern for the Daily Planet and learning on the job how to save the city of Metropolis.”
It seems the film will combine a number of the iconic superheroes' most notable characters and themes, meaning it’ll likely be an essential watch for fans of the Man of Steel. This isn’t the only time the classic superhero has popped up in the news recently, with a recent report claiming thatWarner Brothers rejected Rocksteady’s pitch forSupermanvideo game, leaving many fans baffled as to why.
Superman: Man of Tomorrowwill be released later this year.
