Patti Can Survive A Divorce By Being A Duchess' Mother, But Nan’s Blood Mother Is At The Wedding

Nan wasn’t the only one who was affected by the news of her illegitimate birth.After Nan’s secret was revealed, Patti (Christina Hendricks) decided that she was ready to leave her husband, Tracy St. George (Adam James). Patti figured that as the mother of a duchess, she could survive the scandal associated with divorce at the time and continue to live in high society without her husband. She had resented her childish and unfaithful husband for years, and Nan’s marriage gave her the courage to finally leave him.

At the same time, Tracy also revealed that Nan’s birth mother came to the wedding. Tracy initially lied about the identity of Nan’s mother, and he claimed she died in childbirth. Not all the main women found husbands inThe Buccaneersseason 1.Mabel (Josie Totah) and Honoria Marable (Mia Threapleton) started a secretive romantic relationship that should be a major focus ofThe Buccaneersseason 2. Mabel was trying to find a way to stay in England and be with Honoria secretly, but she ended up calling off her engagement so she could be fully devoted to Honoria. While the couple is together, they’ll still have to figure out a way to keep Mabel in England, as her mother will likely want her to come home and find an American husband.

Meanwhile, Mabel’s sister, Lizzy (Aubri Ibrag), didn’t find a husband either.Lizzy was mostly preoccupied with dealing with Lord Seadown’s constant abuses and taunts, and she wasn’t able to find a husband. Conchita & Richard Will Start A New Life Together Without Either Of Their Families' Money

ThroughoutThe Buccaneersseason 1, Conchita (Alisha Boe) was having trouble adapting to her life as Lady Marable and her marriage to Richard (Josh Dylan). Fortunately for her,by the end of the season, Conchita convinced Richard to leave his family and start an independent life with her and their daughter, Minnie. Unfortunately, Conchita’s father also squandered their family wealth, and she and Richard will have to live a more common life on their own inThe Buccaneersseason 2, all while raising their infant daughter.

Part of the reason Richard finally agreed to leave his family was because of a dark revelation about his past.Richard revealed that his former governess, Miss Testvalley (Simone Kirby), had groomed him as a child and started a predatory relationship with him. When he told his mother, she said that knew about the pedophilia and only sent Testvalley away. Feeling betrayed and realizing how much his mother didn’t love him, Richard finally had the courage to leave and be with Conchita.

Nan Agreed To Marry Theo So Her Power As Duchess Could Protect Jinny & Her Unborn Child

Luckily, Jinny’s abusive marriage to James didn’t last long.At the end ofThe Buccaneersseason 1, Nan and Guy helped Jinny escape from Lord Seadown and start a new life on her own. Guy agreed to watch over and protect Jinny and her unborn child while they were on the run, and Nan agreed to marry Theo so that she could have the power to protect them both as Duchess of Tintagel. After a teary goodbye, Guy and Jinny left while Nan married the man she didn’t love.

The description of The Buccaneers season 2 confirmed that Jinny and Guy would be fugitives of the law for “kidnapping” Lord Seadown’s unborn child.

The last big development to remember ahead ofThe Buccaneersseason 2 concerned the main love triangle of Nan, Guy, and Theo.The night before she married Theo, Nan and Guy slept together. They also professed their love for each other during Jinny’s escape from Lord Seadown, but since Nan needed to be a duchess to protect her sister, they couldn’t be together. It’s clear that Nan loves Guy at least more than she loves Theo, but circumstances have kept them apart.

Nan’s struggle to pick between Guy and Theo should be the main driving force ofThe Buccaneersseason 2. It’s also hard to predict, given the fact that the bookThe Buccaneersis based on was finished by a different author. Nan may end up running away with Guy, as previous adaptations of the story have ended, or she may stay in her loveless marriage, which would be more in keeping with Edith Wharton’s typical style. Regardless of what happens, the road to get there should makeThe Buccaneersseason 2 extremely exciting.
