In the light novel’s afterword, Daul would thank Chugong for allowing him to continue the story, and to fans for their patience and devotion to the sequel.

“To be honest, I was probably not so much a ‘creator’ as much as a humble ‘guardian’… in an already perfect world,” Daul stated, after expressing his gratitude to everyone who has taken this journey alongside him. And although he mentions that Suho’s story may be ending,the world ofSolo Levelingwill continue, even without him contributing.

“[Solo Leveling] will live on – in webtoons, anime, games, dramas… The legend of the Shadow Lord, Sung Jinwoo, lives on. And maybe one day, in a different form, it will return again. For now, I am once again just a fan – and, like you, I follow in the footsteps of his shadow.”
