The Simsfranchise first appeared in 2000, allowing players to enjoy life simulation, character creation and building all in one place. Since, the series has released three furtherSimsgames and are currently working on their fifth title,The Sims 5.

Although the games complexityand graphics have improved over te last 20 years, some players feel as though some elements are missing and thatfeatures from the older games that once were removed should be making a comeback inThe Sim 5.
9The Color Wheel
One thing most players are really missing fromThe Sims 3game is the level of customization available for items and Sims. When building, players could choose from hundereds of patterns that could be applied to every item in game, there was even an option to change the color of these swatches, making building and decorating in the Sims almost limitless.
The color wheel was also available in Create a Sim and allowed players to customize their Sims hair and makeup. Players were disappointed to find this useful feature was not a part ofTheSims 4and something gamers have been hoping EA will add in an update for a long time. With no sign of the color wheel making an appearance inTheSims 4,players can only hope for its return inThe Sims 5.
8Cars And Transportation
Players who have enjoyed previous games withinThe Simsfranchise will remember a time when Sims could travel freely between lots andwithout a loading screen by simply walking or using a car/bike. This is another featuring that the game feels limiting without and was a strange thing for EA to remove.

Previously, in the first three Sims games, players could openly explore worlds and travel between lots without a load screen, something that is impossible inThe Sims 4.This would be a great feature for EA to bring back toThe Simsgames as it gives players more freedom when playing and less load screens, meaning more time for gameplay.
7Zodiacs
A beloved feature inThe Sims 3was the ability to give Sims their own star sign. This feature gave Sims a bit more character and allowed players to add a sense of realism to the game, giving the Sims not only a zodiac but also a season of birth. This was a fun simple feature in create a Sim that players loved.
Zodiacs have become something many people enjoy looking into and exploring now, especially on social media meaning it would be an incredibly popular feature if EA added it in toThe Sims 4orThe Sims 5.
6Improved Neighborhoods
InThe Sims 1,there are 7 worldsand a total of 88 lots, giving players alt of freedom with building and gameplay. This continued inThe Sim 2andThe Sims 3which even allowed players to freely place lots in the world. This meant gamers could make their neighborhoods completely unique,with limitless building.

Again, these features were some reason not included inThe Sims 4and players have been longing for the free gameplay to return.The Sims 4definitely disappointed having worlds with as little as four lots. Hopefully due to the demand for this improvement, EA will take note and bring back these traits from the older games.
5Fairies
InThe Sims 3: Supernaturalpack, fairies were introduced to the game for the first time, allowing players to customize their own fairy and play as them, exploring their different abilities. Unfortunately, fairies have been nowhere to be seen since the third game in the franchise.
The Sims 4: Cottage Livingpackwas a great opportunity for EA to add in the adorable characters, however there has been no sign of their return inThe Sims 4.There are vampire, witch and werewolf packs giving players hope for a fairy pack, however withThe Sims 5in early stages it seems unlikely. Hopefully games can see the fabled Sims return inThe Sims 5.
4More Dating Options
InThe Sims 4, finding love for a sim can feel almost forced. Players have to almost hope their soulmate Sims bump into one another to meet. Older games had much more diverse options when it came to dating and in game love lives.
The Sims 2famously had The Matchmaker, an NPC who would visit players Sims, the option to select turn off’s and turn on’s for Sims., dating wants and fears andThe Sims 3had online dating for Sims.

All of these options made the game feel a bit more natural and unpredictable, something which prevent gameplay from getting boring as there was an element of chance. Many fans are hoping that some of these features make a return inThe Sims 5and help bring back an element of unpredictable realness.
3Better Expansion Packs
Another part of the fourth Sims game that players found disappointing, was the expansion packs, stuff packs and sets. Previously in games likeThe Sims 2and 3, packs would be full of new and exciting, worlds, lots, content and items, however,The Sims 4pack really were a let-down in this sense. This becomes clear when comparing the packs formThe Sim 3and 4. When doing so the lack f content inThe Sims 4packs become prominent.
For example,The Sims 3: Supernaturalcontained fairies, witches, werewolves, vampires and even zombie. Now players ofThe Sims 4need to purchase three separate packs to get witches and werewolves, fables that were once available in one pack along with more. This is also clear in the lack of resort building inThe Sims Four: Island Paradisewhich was previously featured inThe Sims 3equivalents, and the lack of apartment building which was once available in the older versions of theCity Livingexpansion. Gamers were incredibly disappointed with the new packs and can only hope that EA takes note when creating The Sims 5.
2Pets
Tying in with the disappointment in the newer packs some players felt, the animals in The Sims 4also seemed to be lacking for many fans. Pets were introduced inThe Sims 2and allowed players to create lovable furry friends for their Sims. However, inThe Sims 4, the pets pack was missing a few animals including horses and smaller caged animals.

Smaller animals were eventually introduced in theCottage LivingandMy First Petpacks, however there was still no sign of horses. InThe Sims 3players could also play as the pets making them more interactive and important to the game. InThe Sims 4the pets are much less interactive. Gamers expressed disappointment in these changes and hoping horses and playing as pets will return toThe Sims 5.
1More Random/Scripted Events
The older Sims game had a variety of scripted and random events that made the game both more realistic and also much more interesting. Sims homes could be burgled, or they could even be abducted by aliens and this element of unpredictability added a lot of fun to the games.
The Sims 4still has an element of unpredictability with things such as fires, however they seem to be less frequently and less significant, making them almost just an inconvenient. It would be great to see some of these events make a return in The Sims 5.
Overall,The Simsgames provide a huge range of things for players to enjoy despite some of the disappointment players felt aboutThe Sims 4.Hopefully in future EA will take a look back to the older games and take some of what was so great about them and bring it toThe Sims 5.
