InThe Snakeseason 1, episode 4, titled “Surprise Snake,” a new contestant will join the competition, andScreen Rant can exclusively reveal that this person is none other than a former mayor from Emeryville, California, named John Bauters. In his Instagram bio,Johncalls himself “America’s Bike Mayor.”
The now-reality TV star began his political journey as a member of the Emeryville City Council, where he served from 2016-2024. At two different points during that time,he was chosen by the Council to serve as mayor. John’s political career ended when he lost a race for Alameda County Board of Supervisors in 2024.
Screen Rant is also sharing an exclusive clip from the next episodeofFOX’sThe Snake, which shows the mystery crate unveiling John to the existing group of contestants. When the clip begins, host Jim Jefferies asks if everyone’s ready to see who’s inside the crate. Some hands are raised, but others seem frustrated by the surprise.
Finally, John pops out of the crate and says, “Dinner parties are best attended if you’re fashionably late.” When a contestant tells him to go home, John replies that he plans to be here for a while.
