Following the conclusion ofAndorwiththeAndorseason 2 ending, Cassian Andor actor Diego Luna and Bix Caleen actress Adria Arjona have just oneStar Warsspin-off idea they’d be interested in—and it’s brilliant.Andorseason 2 proved that this is truly one ofStar Wars’best TV shows, if not the single best, but it’s also clear that the second season is the final installment of the show. Tony Gilroy has been clear about that for some time, but theAndorseason 2 finale solidified that by concluding just beforeRogue One: A Star Wars Story.
That may make a spin-off feel unlikely or a risk in terms of damaging what was such a stellar show. Yet, despiteAndorseason 2’s place in theStar Warstimeline, there are some opportunities that would work rather well. Specifically,Diego Luna and Adria Arjona have come up with anAndorspin-off idea that would actually work incredibly well, without damaging the integrity of the show.

Adria Arjona & Diego Luna Would Love To Explore The “Missing Year”
We Haven’t Seen Some Key Moments Between Bix And Cassian
AlthoughAndorseason 2 saw the end of Bix and Cassian’s relationship in light of Cassian’s death inRogue One, that doesn’t mean we’ve seen all we can of their story. PerThe Hollywood Reporter,Diego Luna and Adria Arjona would love to see what went on with these two characters betweenAndorseason 1 and 2:
“I would love to tell the story of these two characters during the year we don’t see between season one and season two…This moment of history in a galaxy far, far away is at its darkest, and to have the opportunity to see a love story and build a love story could be so beautiful and unique. And it’s also cheaper!”

Luna makes some excellent points here (especially the references to that spin-off being cheaper, givenAndorisStar Wars’most expensive showto date). It’s clear that there is a massive shift in Cassian and Bix’s romantic relationship betweenAndorseasons 1 and 2, andparticularly because the ending to their love story is so tragic, it would be wonderful to see this period in their lives. Outside their budding romance, it would also be fascinating to see the galaxy take this darker turn, as Luna mentions.
What Do We Know About Cassian & Bix’s “Missing Year?”
There’s Plenty To Interpret Between These Two Seasons
AlthoughAndorhas never been the show to come right out and say something, there’s plenty we can infer about what happens between seasons 1 and 2. IntheAndorseason 1 finale, Cassian had just rescued Bix after she endured horrible torture at the hands of the Empire. There are still plenty of panic attacks and nightmares Bix is experiencing because of this event inAndorseason 2, but it’s clear that she’s also been working on resting and recovering following this trauma.
Part of that was evidently settling down (to a degree) on Mina-Rau, a seemingly peaceful planet surrounded by wheat fields. This is where we find Bix at the beginning ofAndorseason 2, where she is waiting for Cassian’s return. For Cassian’s part, he has obviously become even more committed to the Rebel cause, and he has become bolder and more comfortable with radical, violent actions than ever. This was no doubt spurred on by the death of his adoptive mother, Maarva Andor, and her postmortem rallying cry inAndorseason 1.

BetweenAndorseasons 1 and 2, Cassian and Bix also fully embraced their romantic feelings for one another. There were hints of that in season 1, but it wasn’t made explicit until this second and final season of the show. We first see that when Bix refers to Cassian as her husband, although that is a defensive move against the creepy Imperial officer who eventually attempts to rape her. Interestingly, Arjona has said, while that was defensive, Bix later uses the word ‘husband’ again, making it ambiguous whether they actually got married at some point.
Will Star Wars Bring Arjona & Luna Back For More?
That Remains To Be Seen But May Be Unlikely
It’s thrilling to know that Adria Arjona and Diego Luna are open to this return and even have an idea about how it could work, but that doesn’t automatically mean this possibility is really on the table. There are numerous factors that would go into this decision, andsadly, it’s unlikelyStar Warswould actually pursue anAndorspin-off, at least any time soon. As mentioned,Andorwas a massive success for the franchise.
While many may be thrilled to see this spin-off, Lucasfilm and Disney seem more likely to see it as messing with a good thing rather than an opportunity to continue the story. Of course, that’s subjective. Perhaps based onAndor’s success, the franchise would want to see the return of these characters to theStar Warsscreen. In either case, I’m completely on board with Adria Arjona and Diego Luna’s idea for anAndorspin-off based on ‘the missing year.’
