Fallout 4is packed full of fascinating characters for you to meet as you trek across the post-apocalyptic Commonwealth, and many have surprising backstories. While traveling, you might come across con men trying to start up cults or medical robots with French accents who have been trapped in secret Vaults. Most of the named characters inFallout 4have SPECIAL stats just like the Sole Survivor, but one unlikely person has unusually high Strength.
Your SPECIAL stats inFallout 4determine the different things your Sole Survivor can do and how well they do them. High Agility increases how many Action Points you have when using V.A.T.S. and is great forGunslinger builds inFallout 4, while high Charisma gives you better odds in speech checks.Strength directly affects how much you can carry and your damage output with melee weapons, and given the Strength score of this well-known character, you probably shouldn’t pick a fight with them.

Mama Murphy is one of the best-known characters inFallout 4, and she’s usually met very early in the game as the Sole Survivor ventures out into the world after leaving Vault 111. Introduced as either a psychic or batty old woman, depending on who you believe, I’ve always found Mama Murphy to be an oddly reassuring presence in Sanctuary. That’s why it was such a shock for me to find out thatthis unassuming granny character has a Strength score of 19, making her the physically strongest human inFallout 4.
Mama Murphy’s SPECIAL scores are: Strength 19, Perception 4, Endurance 4, Charisma 4, Intelligence 4, Agility 4, and Luck 4.
The title of strongest character in the game, at least one with SPECIAL stats, belongs to Strong, our Super MutantFallout 4companion. However, I love the idea that this little old lady who wears slippers and does drugs is secretly really tough, and I wish we saw more of this in the game in some form.You can learn a little about Mama Murphy’s background and how she got so buff, usually in exchange for some chems, if you talk with her once she and the other Quincy refugees are settled in Sanctuary.

If chatted to, Mama Murphy will reveal a colorful past and will even describe herself as quite the adventurer when she was younger. This might be an understatement, as when asking for Buffout,Mama Murphy will giggle while she reveals that she once ripped a raider’s head clean offand had a pair of arms“thicker than both your fists together”. This paints the picture of a very capable fighter who certainly earned the nickname Murphy the Madwoman, frequently using her Sight to get into crazy adventures.
The highest SPECIAL score the Sole Survivor can achieve is 12 in one stat with 11 in the rest. This is done by using theYou’re SPECIAL!book along withFallout 4’s bobbleheads.
One of my favorite clues about Mama Murphy can be overheard when the elderly lady explains to Marcy Long she was on the run at some point in her youth from raiders who put a price on her head after she double-crossed them.She will also happily boast to Sturges that she once killed a deathclaw solowith just a pipe gun and one bullet. Learning all of this, I’d have loved a few moreFallout 4quests involving Mama Murphy’s past, her adventures, and perhaps some old enemies, but I’m still satisfied to simply hear her awesome stories.
