Whoopi Goldberg has indicated in an Instagram post that she’s still upset with Blizzard in regard to its handling, or lack thereof, to herDiablo 4situation. Perhaps to many people’s surprise, Goldberg lovestheDiablofranchiseand wanted to play the game on her Mac.
On June 7,Goldberg shared an upset message aboutDiablo 4where she indicated that she did not know it was incompatible with Mac. Notably, Mac was not really built for gaming and, overall, has very limited support when it comes to video games.Diablo 3is supported on Mac, though, but It seems she didn’t check beforehand ifDiablo 4was and asked Blizzard to let her and other Apple users play it on their preferred platform.

Now, Goldberg has double-downed on the message, apparently quite upset that Blizzard didn’t reach out regarding her purchase ofDiablo 4. In an Instagram post, as she prepared to give a talk, she stated, that she’s realized she’s still upset with “Blizzard Entertainment because [she] still [has] not heard from them.” It’s not immediately clear from the post whether she has contacted Blizzard Support or requested a refund. However, Goldberg did indicate that she wants her money back if she’s not going to get the game, specifically on her Mac. “I understand they want me to go get this for Xbox, but I want my money back — if you’re not going to give me my game…I feel [that] I’m nice about it, but a lot of people are upset that they did not get what they were promised.”
During her discussion, she also said that she feels entitled to an apology akin to “Hey, Whoop, we’re really sorry that happened to you,” while also expressing her upset regarding the UPS dropping packages off in the middle of the street before adding “I want my game. I want my money back. Please, Blizzard, I love y’all, this is a little out of control now.” She ultimately ends by saying that she and Blizzard “could’ve done this a little bit better.” However, again, it’s not entirely certain where the disconnect between the company and Goldberg lies exactly. There are various support and consumer systems Goldberg could employ in regard to this, even with there being one way to technically playDiablo4 on Mac. There is a new game compatibility layer on MacOS she could use, for example, but it’s not exactly official. It’s ultimately unlikely thatDiablo 4comes to Mac, especially anytime soon, as expanding platforms is not as simple as flipping a switch.
While an odd situation overall, it comes as no surprise that Goldberg and presumably other famous folks are enticed by the game.Diablo 4’s launch has been huge, with it quickly becoming Blizzard’s fastest-selling game to date. The first official season is also set to launch in July.Blizzard has yet to reveal much aboutDiablo 4season 1, outside its Battle Pass and ladder systems, but fans can expect more info in the coming weeks.
