2021 was a fantastic year for Playground Games and its hit open world racing title,Forza Horizon 5. Featuring the largest map that the series have ever seen set in the diverse biomes of Mexico,Forza Horizon 5went on to be an instant successbecoming the largest launch day game for Xbox Game Studios as well as having peak player numbers 3 times as large as Forza Horizon 4. The game also nabbed a ton of end of year awards, including Best Audio Design and Innovation for Accessibility.
Part of the appeal of theHorizonseries is the live service element, which constantly brings in new content for players to chase, especially with the season system. One thing that Forza Horizon 5 really stresses isplayer creativity through the Event Labs feature, essentially letting players build their own custom game modes and races to share with others. With over 10 million players having jumped into the game since it launched, there’s been plenty of creative and surprising clips that have surfaced.

One video in particular has been making the rounds, going viral almost instantly over the wildly bad luck oneForza Horizon 5player experience during a race. The clip, shared by Twitter user 216doe, showed a 13-second clip of the last moments of a race. The Range Rover driver, seemingly in place for a 1st place finish, goes over a jump and is approaching the finish line. However, the car behind them manages to land on top of their car and proceeds to get stuck there.
While funny in and of itself, both cars cross the finish line stuck like that though the player who was in first place during theoff-road BajaForza Horizoneventactually finishes in second with the stuck car on top getting first. The clip blew up instantly as players witnessed the absurdity of it all, with the clip wracking up nearly 6 million views, over 110 thousand retweets, and nearly 600 thousand likes. While no doubt frustrating for the player in the moment, the clip can be seen as pretty hilarious thanks to how absurd and unlikely the whole thing is.
In addition to the randomness of the open world, Playground Games also hasplenty more planned forForza Horizon 5in 2022to keep players coming back. Just recently, a new post from the developer outlined its plans for the game, including fixes coming for the remaining bugs and issues. Unfortunately, a time frame wasn’t provided, though players who have grown frustrated with issues stemming from things like the Leaderboard should have news coming sooner than later.
Forza Horizon 5is now available on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
