One of the best parts ofClair Obscur: Expedition 33is that there are dozens of different ways to “break the game,” something the developers at Sandfall Interactive not only encourage, but incorporated intentionally into the fundamental gameplay design. One such method for doing this involves an incredibly powerful weapon and skill combo for a somewhat divisive character, Verso. In terms of narrative, not everyone is a big fan of Verso’s character traits and questionable morals, but it’s undeniable he has some of the best combat mechanics in the game.

If you haven’t landed on a sound strategy for aVerso build inClair Obscur, there are countless choices to customize around hisvarious weapon optionsand his range of unique skills. Verso’s Perfection system is one of the more straightforward and effective character mechanics in the game, but there’s one weapon and skill combo that uses this system differently than all others, and it’s capable of perma-stun locking any boss in the game. This is a must-try strategy for Verso fans, and it’s perfect if you’re struggling with any particularly challenging boss, such as Simon.

How To Perma-Stun Every Boss In Clair Obscur

Verso Has A Unique Weapon & Skill Combo That Can Perma-Stun Any Boss, Even Simon

Verso is a characterthat has a ton of weapon options that give you plenty of dynamic ways to strategize during combat. One incredibly effective method that can stun-lock literally any boss in the gameincludes theSeeramweapon and theEnd Bringerskill. This combo has a unique synergy that basically allows you to prevent enemies from taking their turns at all, which isn’t everyone’s favorite approach to combat, but it’s extremely effective nonetheless.

Seeram has a unique effect thatprevents you from reaching S-Rank with Verso, while also allowing you to increase your Perfection quickly with base attacks. This doesn’t seem very ideal on the surface, but when you bring End Bringer into the picture, it quickly becomes one of the best weapons in the game. The trick is that you need to figure out how to Stun an enemy by filling their Break bar and then Breaking them, which can be achieved in various ways, and then continue to hit them with End Bringer to reapply Stun indefinitely.

One effective strategy for Breaking enemies is to useMonoco’s various Break skillsto set Verso up to reapply Stun every turn.

Because of Seeram’s unique effect, you will always be at A-Rank instead of advancing to S-Rank, unless, of course, you are hit by an enemy attack and drop rank. Being locked into A-Rank means thatevery time you use End Bringer you will be dealing six hits of extreme, increased Physical damageand reapplying Stun on every turn. This works most effectively against single-target bosses, even very difficult"secret" bosses like Simon.

How To Get Seeram & End Bringer In Clair Obscur

You can pick up the Seeram weapon for Verso by entering the Coastal Cave, which is a location in Act 2 northeast of Forgotten Battlefield that you can enter before you make your way up to Monoco’s Station. Inside the Coastal Cave, there is a pair of blacksmiths, Cruler and Bruler, that you can defeat to unlock their wares and purchase various weapons. You’ll be able topurchase a Level 12 Seeram here for 21,275 Chroma, and it’s well worth it if you have the cash on hand.

On Verso’s skill tree, End Bringer is in the very bottom row andwill cost a minimum of 25 skill points invested to unlock, assuming you invest your points in a straight line down to it. This isn’t necessarily the best strategy because you will obviously need other skills for Verso throughout the game, especially early on when you are first figuring out how his mechanics work.

The above perma-stun strategy isn’t necessarily the best way to learn the game’s mechanics, so you may want to wait to use it for endgame opponents.

The skill itselfwill cost you 10 points to unlock as it is easilyone of Verso’s most powerful attacks. Even if you don’t have the End Bringer skill unlocked yet, Seeram is well worth grabbing if you have the Chroma, and you may employ the above strategy as soon as you’re able to unlock the skill. The above perma-stun strategy isn’t necessarily the best way to learn the game’s mechanics, however, so you may want to wait to use it for endgame opponents you’re struggling with.

Why Verso’s Perma-Stun Combo Is Game-Breaking

The Perma-Stun Combo Makes Quick Work Of Most Bosses

Verso’s Perma-Stun build with the Seeram and End Bringer combo is one of the many game-breaking builds in the game, on par with Maelle’s solo Stendahl strategy that can one-shot bosses even afterStendahl was nerfedin an early update. Game-breaking builds might seem unfair or pointless to some players, but other players get great satisfaction in “breaking the game” in various ways. This combo is game-breaking because you can stun-lock even the toughest enemies so they don’t even get a chance to play.

Game-breaking builds are also something that developers want players to be able to do, and they even encourage it, intentionally incorporating different mechanics that can beexploited in the gamewith varying effects. In my view, this is a fascinating and extremely fun feature ofClair Obscur: Expedition 33that makes the game enjoyable and fan-oriented, giving players multiple ways to have fun however they like.
