It definitely suits a human or gnome best (but the Horde can certainly pull it off as well). When it comes to that kind of travel, it is best to wear clothes that will not be restrictive in terms of movement, and that is exactly the intent behind the Traveling Mage set. Rather than a robe that could get caught on an exposed root or get all dirty, this Mage transmog set uses armor that looks more like travel gear instead of a traditional mage robe.
Some pieces are found on the Trading Post, so players who want to recreate this set may be at the mercy of what is available for that month. The Mana Igniting Cord is pretty easy to obtain, as several bosses in Molten Core have a chance to drop it. A Combination of Gear That Looks Great on a Mage
The Shadowmoon/Frostwind set is perfect for those that like a blue and purple contrast. Both the Shadowmoon Cowl and Shadowmoon Robes are level 2 Armory pickups from Garrisons. The Frostwind Mantle, Gloves, and Cord are Island Expedition drops (BFA). Blue Frostwind Feathers look incredible with the purple feathery Shadowmoon Robes. Likewise, Sadana’s Grisly Visage is a purple skull weapon with blue eyes, which ties the look together perfectly.

Would Look Great On a Fire Mage
This Gladiator’s Silk transmog should be easy to pick up. The head and shoulder pieces can be tailored and are likely in the auction house on most servers. Gladiator’s Slippers are a PVP reward through Kylo Kelwin in the Underbelly. Players can choose to go with any chest piece, but red or orange fit the look best. A Unique Look For Arcane Mages
The Arcanoshatter set looks particularly good on night elves and blood elves because of how big the pieces are. The Arcanoshatter Hood and Mantle in particular take up a lot of space on the character model. Both of the pieces are Blackrock Foundry drops, with the hood dropping from Kromog and the Mantle dropping from Operator Thogar. For the rest of the transmog set, players should consider the combination of black and burnt orange gear to match the Arcanoshatter aesthetic. This outfit will make a great transmog set for Arcane Mages.
10Conqueror’s Kirin Tor Garb
A Good Set For Any Mage
The stunning, robeless Kirin Tor set from the Ulduar raid comes with a mysterious and intimidating look. The helm features a glowing, arcane eye thathovers just in front of it. Another glowing light feature beams from the domes of the shoulder pieces as if containing powerful energies.
The Kirin Tor Garb comes in Valorous and Conqueror’s editions. The Valorous set has a red hue while the Conqueror’s comes in a violet shade. Obtaining the Conqueror’s version requires gaining all the set pieces through Wayward Vanquisher tokens from the 25-man difficulty of Ulduar.
9Darkshore Warfront Cloth
A Set That Changes Depending On Faction
TheBattle for Azerothexpansion brought with it the all-new Warfronts. Although they came with problems, the sets they offer are fantastic. The cloth versions of the Darkshore sets for both Horde and Alliance are unique looks individualized for both factions.
The Alliance cloth set is reminiscent of a Night Elf priest. It comes adorned with feathers and other Kal’dorei trinkets. The female variant includes a translucent, lace-like chest piece unseen on other armors inWorld of Warcraft. The Horde gets a set inspired by the Plaguebringers of the Forsaken. It comes with 3D jeweled wristbands and a pointy cultist hat. The higher-end version comes with a haunting plague doctor mask, vials of glowing plague, and pointy objects galore.
8Valorous Frostfire Garb
A Bright And Beautiful Set For Mages
Few Mage sets are as iconic as the Frostfire Garb from Naxxramas. The 25-man Valorous variant comes with a slight change to its features. It’s a violet cloth set with large, glowing, purple crystals on the shoulder pads dripping in icicles, making a perfect look for Arcane and Frost Mages alike. If players prefer the original version from vanillaWoW, it can be obtained by unlocking the secrets of Naxxramas, but it will be expensive.
The Valorous Frostfire Garb combines seamlessly with the violet variant of the Ebonchill staff fromLegion. For a more sinister look, combine it with the Staff of Infinite Mysteries from Karazhan. There’s enough purple here to make Prince proud.
