Set ten years in the future, this apocalyptic new future raises one burning question: who is the mutant now calling themselves Revelation, the Heir to Apocalypse, and how did they become the force behind this grim future?
In honor of the upcoming 30th anniversary of one of the greatest sagas in X-Men history,Age of Apocalypse, Marvel will launch theAge of Revelation, a mutant crisis event that will seethe world reborn in the image of the heir to Apocalypse: Doug“Cypher”Ramsey, who will be going by the new name Revelation.

How Is Doug Ramsey Responsible for Marvel’s New Apocalyptic Future?
From Cypher to Revelation, Doug Ramsey Just Got a MAJOR Power Upgrade
.As revealed by Marvel,Age of Revelationtakes current X-Menstorytelling ten years into the future and follows Doug Ramsey, who, after being welcomed onto the X-Men by Cyclops, sets out on the impossible task Apocalypse entrusted to him:creating a world where only the fittest survive. However, some fans may be left scratching their heads, wondering how this often underestimated mutant is the one chosen to usher in this dark new era.
As X-Men fans know, Doug is a mutant with the cerebral ability to understand all forms of language, including alien, machine, coded, body, and even magical languages. While this power is undeniably cool and unique, it doesn’t exactly scream harbinger of the apocalypse. Yet that is precisely what Doug becomes, thanks to a monumental upgrade to his mutant ability.

Marvel teases that Doug’s linguistic power has been amplified to an astonishing new level, granting him the ability to command Earth with his voice.Using this enhanced gift, he reshapes the planet into a utopian haven for mutantkind. As Marvel puts it,“It’s a mutant homeland built on an insidious lie, spreading across the planet and wiping out humanity until it becomes a mutant homeworld!”
Jed MacKay: Enter… the Age of Revelation! I’m extremely excited to be at the center of this event — we’re traveling to the alien future of the Age of Revelation, where the stories unfolding in the Revelation Territories and beyond will decide whether this is the dawn of a new world, or the end of one. We’ve been exploring a whole world, and it’s been really exciting to see other creators make corners of it their own!
