Since the start of 2022, Ubisoft has been making more and more of its big games available to play through theXbox Game Passsubscription service. The ball started rolling when brand-new releaseRainbow Six Extractionwas made a day oneXbox Game Passgame, which was followed up by the addition ofAssassin’s Creed OriginsandFor Honor: Marching Fire Editionat the beginning of last month.

Far Cry 5isn’t the latest entry in Ubisoft’s popular open world series, but it’s still one of the more popular ones.Far Cry 5takes players to Hope County, Montana, where they find themselves at odds with a dangerous cult led by thevillainous Joseph Seed.Far Cry 5earned mostly positive reviews at the time of its original release, though many have criticized it for sticking too closely to the establishedFar Cryformula.
Those that have extensively played other games in theFar Cryseries may come away fromFar Cry 5with a sense of deja vu, but being able to play it through the Game Pass subscription service is still a steal. Regardless of any franchise fatigue, there’s no denying that theFar Crygamesare consistently some of the biggest game releases whenever a new one comes out, and so it’s still a big “get” for Game Pass.
Of course,Far Cry 5is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to new Xbox Game Pass games for July 2022. Microsoft has yet to announce all the new games coming to Xbox Game Pass for July 2022, but previous announcements have let fans know of at least some of the games they can look forward to playing this month. And as it turns out, there are at leastfive day one Xbox Game Pass games scheduled to release in July 2022so far.
