Although theXbox Game Passaddition reveals have been slightly more erratic than usual since the calendar turned over, the games it loses every month have stuck to their usual cadence, and now fans know of seven titles leaving the service on February 28. However, instead of being accompanied by a new wave reveal forXbox Game Pass, these titles have been updated on the Xbox App.
This means this should be taken with a minor grain of salt until Microsoft confirms one way or another, as something could change last minute or more could be added to the list. Meanwhile, it has been a relatively busy week forXbox Game Pass as it has added a new trial forWild Hearts,as well as full releases ofMount and Blade 2: BannerlordandCities: Skylines Remastered.

While there are several major games leaving this month, it seems thatFinal Fantasy 13: Lightning Returnsis the most storied. Xbox Game Pass and Square Enix once made a huge, public display aboutFinal Fantasygames coming to the service, but since then, these games have left one after another.Lightning Returnsis the lastFinal Fantasygame on the service, following the original’s departure on September 15th andFinal Fantasy 13-2’s on November 30. With this, there will benoFinal Fantasygames available on Xbox Game Pass.
The good news is that, generally speaking, Xbox Game Pass additions outpace removals. It remains to be seen how long this holds true, but with two games already confirmed for March, it stands to reason fans will learn more about theXbox Game Pass games for March 2023relatively soon. And among that first wave of games, fans can probably expect the pace to be matched, if not exceeded.
