WithDisney Dreamlight Valley’sPeter Panupdate out of the way,The Storybook Vale’s finale is quickly approaching.Part 2 ofThe Storybook Valewill be available on July 9th, 2025, and will officially conclude the story of that expansion, making way for a new one this November, if Gameloft sticks to its normal timeline.

That being said, with less than a week until release, now is as good a time as any to get caught up on everything in the first halfif you haven’t already. Not only will there most certainly be spoilers floating around that morning, but if you’ve playedDisney Dreamlight Valleyfor a while now, then you know how drastically behind and overwhelmed you can become if you don’t attempt to keep up with new content, and that goes for the base game and expansions.

Why You Should Complete Storybook Vale Before Part 2

There’s Never A Better Time To Catch Up Than Between Updates

While you might be thinking about waiting until Part 2 is fully released, so that you can play it all in one go, that could not be a worse idea. Firstly, as with all new content inDisney Dreamlight Valley, several tasks require multiple days' work or have lengthy waiting periods attached to them. This means that it will be impossible for you to wrap everything up in one or two sittings, even if you have the free time.

Secondly, you’re far more likely to be spoiled on content from the finale if you wait, which may or may not be a big deal to you, but new content is always better if you’re seeing it for the first time yourself. Lastly, the most important reason you should tackle Part 1 ofThe Storybook Valenow is that this is the absolute best time to do so. Yes, theMysteries of Skull Rockupdate did launch recently, but it was a rather small summer content update, and Peter Pan could be unlocked with his friendship maxed out in as little as 1–2 days.

This means that if you have already finished that, all that’s left is completing thenewest DDV Star Path, and that’s something you can do passively while working on other things.Storybook Vale’s Part 1 is lengthy, and Part 2 will likely be too, considering thatA Rift In Timewas split into three parts and this one has been condensed into just two. So,if you wait until it’s released, there’s a good chance you’ll still be working on it when the next free content update drops, which is expected to beInside Out-focused.

Essentially,if you let yourself fall too far behind, you’ll spend even more time constantly playing catch-up. I’ve been playing this game since early access, and I can assure you that every time I’ve fallen behind, I’ve regretted it. Primarily because you risk missing out on limited-time event rewards, which, if you do focus on, only pushes your other content further behind.

What To Expect From The Unwritten Realms

Maleficent & Aurora Come To The Valley

Since players already have the opportunity to meet Maleficent at the end ofStorybook Vale’s first half, it came as a surprise to nobody when it was announced during the Developer Update that she would be joining the Valley officially in Part 2, The Unwritten Realms. However, what was only speculated on and later confirmed was thatthe secret fifth character in TheStorybook Valewas none other than Princess Aurora, also known as Sleeping Beauty.

While this technically wasn’t much of a surprise either, since her notes can be found scattered throughoutThe Storybook Vale’s different areas, it was still nice to get some official confirmation and a sneak peek at her character model. As the two remaining characters,The Unwritten Realms will likely focus heavily on their relationship dynamic as you help search for the missing Princess, with a few surprises along the way.

However, if I’m being totally honest, aside from the new characters, what I’m most excited about for this finale isa potential sneak peek at the next expansion, similarly to howA Rift In Time’s finale teased new villainsforThe Storybook Valeby showing an image of Hades and Maleficent. This, if nothing else, should be the last thing to convince you that you’ll want to be caught up in time, because if your favorite character is teased byDisney Dreamlight Valleyin the finale, that’s something you should get to experience for yourself and not through social media.
