There has been much speculation about what is happening. Rumors suggest this was done by the new separate division, DC Studios, under James Gunn and Peter Safran (who are steering away from the Snyderverse inthe DC Universe reboot) rather than Warner Bros. Discovery. However, assuming it was removed to create more demand for the physical copies, it could also be a strategy by WBD to instigate more revenue by using controversy to plummet its stocks just for people to buy in before rising again. Either way, there may be more to the motivations for removing the film since there doesn’t appear to be any correlation between having to remove the trailer for a licensing issue and the film’s removal from MAX Europe.
