Traditionally, cooking has never been a real mechanic inThe Legend of Zeldafranchise. When players got hurt in mostZeldagames, they would have to slay monsters or break pots to find hearts that they could use to recover their health. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wildwas the first game in the series to introduce a cooking mechanic that allowed Link to add food to his inventory to replenish health whenever needed. Players could experiment with all sorts of different ingredients to make food that not only gave them hearts, but certain food would give them additional benefits, such as increasing Link’s stamina or his defense. InThe Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, the cooking mechanic is back with more recipes and a Zonai device called a Portable Pot that allows Link to make a quick meal anywhere in Hyrule.

Reddit user RealBarryFox took thecooking mechanic from the newerZeldagamesto the next level by making one of the recipes in real life. In an image posted to Reddit, RealBarryFox showed off the Hylian Tomato Pizza he made with an image of how it appears in the game. The real-life pizza looks like it came straight out ofTears of the Kingdom, with plump tomato slices, a blanket of mozzarella cheese, thinly sliced green peppers, and black olives spread across the top.
Another Reddit user named shots-by-leo recreatedWildberry Crepes from Tears of the Kingdomin real life. In the game, Wildberry Crepes can be made with Tabantha Wheat, Cane Sugar, Fresh Milk, one Wildberry, and a Bird Egg, which can all be purchased at various shops around Hyrule, or found out in the wild. In real life, shots-by-leo used blueberries, strawberries, and raspberries for the jam, powdered sugar, heavy cream, and vanilla extract for the whipped cream, and flour, milk, butter, water, and two regular eggs to make the crepes. Detailed instructions on the exact measurements of each ingredient can be found in the Reddit post, including a link to a well-edited YouTube video going through the process.
Between the two meals, theHylian Tomato Pizza inTears of the Kingdomis a better value for the player, as it replenishes 15 hearts in the game. To cook it, players will need one Hylian Tomato, one stalk of Tabantha Wheat, and one piece of Hateno Cheese.
